Love Is The Theme…

Giving Up: Just Not an Option…

jesus_cares.gif

Sometimes, we call them “rainy days”…just that: rainy days. These are times when we feel discouraged, unmotivated and ready to give up on whatever is being an obstacle in our life. The danger is that, rainy days can easily become rainy months, and even, rainy life…

We are in a state of mind that makes us feel unworthy; and as the world around us seems to continue at its normal pace, oblivious to our pain, we often recoil into ourselves even more and hide from others…

Wouldn’t it be easier to exhale, to just shout and cry out for help? Often, we don’t realize there is a way out of the turmoil…Rather than sinking deep into what often leads to depression, wouldn’t it be a relief to admit that “I can’t do this by myself…I need support” ?

“O Lord, how long will you forget me? Forever?

How long will you look the other way?

How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul,

With sorrow in my heart everyday?

How long will my enemy have the upper hand?” (Psalm 13:1-2)

We have all said a prayer like this before…maybe not using the same words, and not knowing we were talking to God. But it is a very sane and liberating action: Looking upwards with fervor and be ready to surrender to His guidance.

Beloved, try to look back at your life, and think about a time when you were going through a rainy day: How did it all end? How did you find a solution to your problem? Did circumstances change into your favor? Were you relieved from physical illness? Did you obtain the rest and peace that you were longing for?

Are you having a rainy day right now? Are things storming out of control? Are your burdens heavy? Now is the time to say again: “I can’t do this by myself…Lord I need your help”

In my alarm I said,
“I am cut off from your sight!”
Yet you heard my cry for mercy
when I called to you for help (Psalm 31:22)

Even when we feel we have walked away from Him, we should not give in to despair. He does not walk away from us, and His help is just a cry away.

  1. Hi Christelle

Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I appreciated what you wrote here. I especially liked the line: “Looking upwards with fervor and be ready to surrender to His guidance.” Oh yeah. Be aware I’m not giving up, just being a whiney, spoiled child of the King.
