Love Is The Theme…

The Gardener Was Here…

“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.”

(John 15:1-4)

The Gardener was here. As I woke up to the sound of pruning and snipping, the smell of freshly cut grass invaded my nostrils. It wasn’t a surprise: I had expected His arrival, and had even prayed for it. As He busied himself over the branches, gently cutting here and there, I felt waves of sadness wash over me. It was painful, but just for a short time. Soon, the anguish was replaced by a blissful joy. Tears of relief streamed down the rugged surface, met tiny drops of sap, and both slowly crashed to the ground, beside the distorted sticks and yellowing leaves that had just been removed. Gone, gone was the shriveled tree! In its place, stood a robust and vigorous plant. Praise God, the earth is filled with His glory! \ O /

~No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.~

(Hebrews 12:11)
